I’m typically not one to rub it in, but if you were not at this year’s Foundation Contractor’s Night at the STRAT, you missed out! It was a blast. With over 300 in attendance, it was the largest crowd we’ve had in over 15 years. The food was amazing, the conversations were encouraging, and the atmosphere was ON POINT! It was the highlight of my trip to Vegas. Best of all, there were many new faces to join the faithful ones—some of whom are already becoming members.

As we press into 2023, I’m sure there are a lot of questions; I have plenty of my own. We recognize the importance of clear and frequent communication, so our members feel informed and educated on how and where the industry is going.

Here are a few ways we are sharing:

  • “Monday Cup of CFA” – If you are not getting these quick updates, let us know. This is the best way to hear what is current and coming up. If you are not receiving this, the most likely reason is your company isn’t a member. Check with Skye.
  • “CFA Best Practice Groups” – These take place on the third Wednesday of every month during a lunchtime slot. It’s a great way to see and hear from your peers on current issues, concerns, and opportunities. If you haven’t been invited, the most likely reason is your company isn’t a member. Check with Skye.
  • “Concrete Facts Magazine” – This very publication you are reading comes directly from our staff managing the Concrete Foundations Association, and it is designed as the voice for residential concrete industry news, market intelligence, business strategies, technical solutions, product information, and other resources for professionals in the cast-in-place concrete industry. We hope you enjoy reading it quarterly as we seek to keep you informed and invited, whether you are a member or not.
  • “CFACon23” – Our summer meetings are the best way to invest in your company for the long haul. Besides the great speakers and exhibits, during this family-encouraged event, you will also be able to spend time conversing with your peers. As you catch up with old friends or forge new relationships, you naturally learn what they are doing to take their business to the next level. I’ve never left one of these meeting without ideas on how to improve.

This year will no doubt present challenges—they all do. But now more than ever, I’m grateful to be a part of the Concrete Foundations Association. If you are not plugged in, reach out to me; I’d be happy to discuss how we are building businesses better together. Oh yeah, and who is “Skye”? Skye Kelley is our membership engagement and development staff member, and she can’t wait to have a conversation with you—skelley@cfaconcretepros.org.
